What is Rivian? Rivian is a start up electric-vehicle manufacturer headquartered outside of Detroit and is focused on manufacturing commercial vans for companies like Amazon and adventure vehicles (trucks and SUVs) for the general public.

I own an electric car now, but I’m really excited about upcoming electric trucks and SUVs because I currently own a gasoline powered SUV and would love to change over to an electric SUV too.

Based on what I’ve researched online, I believe Rivian plans on releasing its electric vehicles, R1T (truck) and R1S (SUV), for sale in June 2021. Below are some videos about the R1T and R1S by Rivian:

R1T (Truck) Details Per Rivian:

• Pricing: Starting at $67,500.
• Range:
  • At launch, the R1T will deliver 300+ miles.
  • In January 2022, a 400+ mile R1T will be available.
  • After launch, Rivian will announce the timing for a 250+ mile R1T.
• Speed: 0-60 in 3 seconds.
• Towing: Up to 11,000 pounds.
• Off Road Performance:
  • Approach Angle: 34 degrees
  • Departure Angle: 29.3 degrees
  • Max Ground Clearance: 14.4 inches
  • Wading Depth: Up to 3 feet.
• Seating: 5
• Software Updates: Automatic over-the-air software updates.
• Connectivity: 4G and WiFi capable.

  • 68 cubic feet of enclosed storage
  • Truck bed

  • Structural composite truck bed.
  • Four 110V and three 12V.
  • A lockable, weatherproof tonneau cover.
  • Room under the bed floor for an optional full-size spare are standard on all vehicles.
  • Gear Tunnel side doors have storage compartments inside and can hold up to 300 lbs so you can step up to load gear on the roof, or sit while you prep.
